Stronger.

I am all about getting stronger. I have a regular schedule of weight training. It’s hard, but I am determined to get stronger physically so I can be able to continue living a healthy vital life into my 80’s, 90’s and beyond.

When trials come and life just gets tough, I often think my mental strength and determination will get me through. That hasn’t worked out so well in life. God is not impressed with our strength, He’s moved by our surrender.

1 Peter 5:7: "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." This verse tells us to throw our worries onto God since He deeply cares about what happens to us. So, why do we struggle with this? Could it be pride, stubborn independence or are we just that naive to think that we can fix things on our own?

Surrender doesn’t mean you just give up. Surrender means stopping your own struggle to fix everything and letting God handle what you cannot manage.

If you’re feeling tired, afraid of what’s going to happen next, just say out loud “I don’t know what you’re doing, God, but I’m going to trust you and get out of your way.”

Surrender always involves trust. It means that even when we can’t see what’s happening or why, we trust that God’s plans are better than ours–even when it hurts.

Life is hard and God’s got big shoulders. God knows you can’t do this on your own. Thank God He’s good at picking us up. If you want to be strong, be strong in your faith. God’s got this!
