Potholes.

How many times have you seen the road crew patching the many roads with asphalt filling? Every year there seems to be more holes in the road needing repair.

Life is a lot like driving on a road full of potholes. Some potholes are caused by our own choices. Like the roads, if they are left unrepaired, they only get deeper, causing more damage to everyone who travels that road.

Sometimes I feel like God is patching my heart on a daily basis. There have been seasons when my heart was so broken that I wondered if it would ever heal again.

But, my God is faithful. He fills my every need and challenges my every want. How does He do this? By the Holy Spirit. When we get right with God and ask Jesus into our life, God rewards us by giving us incredible hope in life.

There is no human on earth who can fill that void. Only God can meet all our needs and give us a lasting sense of self worth. Don’t ignore the broken places in your heart.

Allow God to keep re-filling the potholes of your heart. Until God’s love and acceptance is enough, nothing else will be.
