One day at a time.

Some days feel like I’m walking through mud. Every task feels heavy and hard. Things happen and I catch myself asking ,“Why me Lord?” But then I remind myself that I am truly blessed in so many ways.

There are journeys and struggles that last much longer than we expect. And there are many times that we don’t know what to do. We make good meaningful plans, but they turn out just the opposite.

Yes, it’s true, we can’t control what happens to us, but we can control as to how we respond to these hiccups in our day. Life is too short to dwell on all that’s going wrong in our life. That’s just what the devil wants us to do. Instead, look around and see all that is good right in front of you.

In the Bible, it teaches us to guard our heart. But what does that mean? Your inner life—your thoughts, desires, and motives—controls your outward actions.

Reflect on things that inspire love, peace, and sweetness.

Philippians 4:6-7 tells us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.

One day at a time, one step forward - God will meet you where you are.
