Trials and temptations.

I have a feeling if I asked a few Christians how their life was different after becoming a Christian, I might get similar answers. One thing for sure, we all face obstacles in our daily walk with God. Temptations come along from unexpected circumstances. But this doesn’t mean that we’re doing anything wrong or not walking as we should.

You see, if you don’t have any tests in life, then you won’t have any testimonies. Some of my biggest failures have brought out my most powerful testimonies. As a Christian, you know these things; you know that satan will tempt you and you know that God will test our faith in the most difficult times. But, we don’t just give in, we fight back.

The Bible addresses tests and trials by explaining that they build perseverance, refine faith like gold, and produce spiritual maturity.

Trials are the inevitable hurdles of life. Christian or not, we all face the heartaches of trials. The question is who can we always count on and lean on during these difficulties. God is the only answer and because He sent His only Son to die on a cross for us, we can trust that He will carry us through each and every trial we face.

So, the next time you face a trial (notice I didn’t say “if”), look to God for the answers and be hopeful in prayer that He will never leave your side.

Be joyful in hope! Be patient in affliction! Be faithful in prayer!

James 1:2-4 - “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
