Special delivery.
In this world of online ordering and shopping from the comfort of our home, life is fast. You order something in the morning and it arrives in the afternoon. Instant gratification.
I sometimes wish problems were that easy to solve. We all h ave issues that we deal with, but as a Christian we are privileged to take those burdens to Jesus. He won’t fix every conflict as fast or even in the way we prefer, but He will give us an answer to our prayers, in His timing.
Our answer to our prayers is wrapped up in God’s love and wisdom. And in His time, it will arrive as a ‘special delivery.’
Sometimes God waits to answer our prayers because He trusts us to make the right decisions. Other times, God requires us to patiently wait; not to punish us, but so He can see that we trust Him.
Our God is not a genie in a bottle. You must have a relationship with Him. Just as a trusted friend, God listens and cares about what we’re dealing with.
Every answered prayer is a blessing from God. Invest in Jesus and have faith that He’s got this. Wait on the Lord, He knows what’s best for us.
In Galatians 5:16-25, the Apostle Paul writes that the desires of the flesh and the Spirit are at war. He lists "self-control" and "patience" as fruits of the Spirit, encouraging believers to control their impulses.
Galatians 5:22-25 - “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
