What lies ahead.

We live in a world of instant gratification; people planning ahead for the next 5, 10 or 20 years. But, none of us know for sure what tomorrow will bring. My fellow Christian brothers and sisters know that we are only promised our next breath.

Proverbs 3:5–6 tells believers to trust the Lord with all their heart and lean not on their own understanding. This mirrors the reality of living forward in uncertainty while only seeing God's purpose later. There have been many times in my life when I didn’t understand what’s going on or why I am going through this tragedy, or even just a little bump in the road. It is usually later when I fully see God from the very start.

You see, we live life forward, but we understand it backward. Jesus' disciples did not understand His suffering and death as it happened. It was only afterward, as Jesus walked with them and opened the Scriptures, that their eyes were opened to see the divine purpose behind the pain.

I may not know what tomorrow will bring, but I do know my Savior, my Redeemer lives and never leaves my side. Don’t think you got God all figured out; after all, He created the Heavens and the earth, and you and me.

Be patient with God’s plans and trust Him. His way is not our way, but it is always the best way!

My life verse is Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
