Overthinking.
Simply put, overthinking is a symptom of misplaced faith. Worrying and obsessing over the future happens when we place our trust in our own abilities or circumstances rather than in God.
I am guilty of this, how about you? Overthinking usually comes from trying to control outcomes we cannot predict. When we do this, we are functioning as if everything depends on us, our intellect, or our planning, rather than relying on God's true will for our lives.
God made each of us, and had plans from the day we were born, so why do we keep thinking we are holding the reigns? Try this the next time you are stressed and worried over your circumstances: GIVE IT TO GOD. He can handle it. How do you think you got through life this far?
Turn your panic into prayer. Just try it. Let go and let God take the wheel.
Philippians 4:6-7 - “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
