Traditions.

Traditions are especially noticed this time of year. Celebrations of Christmas with parties, ceremonies, gatherings and special memories are created. I always give a bell to my grandkids to put on their tree, hoping that when I’m long gone, they will remember me when they see the bells.

Traditions reinforce values such as faith, integrity and the value of being selfless. They are a way to create lasting memories.

My biggest and most consistent prayer though, is for my kids and grandkids to carry on the tradition of giving their life to Christ.

Traditions can be good or bad. Make sure you’re creating loving, God-filled experiences so your children’s children will remember what a kind and loving grandparent you were.

How about you? What kinds of traditions are you passing on to your loved ones? How do you want to be remembered?

Why not start next year with a new tradition of following Jesus?

1 Corinthians 11:1-2 - “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you.
