Friday, February 22 - Trust without borders

Trusting God is key in all things. Each day as we start our day, it is as important as brushing your teeth, to talk to God first. Trust that His plan for the day is best and that He will guide your steps.

We arrived in Lima Peru after 1:00 a.m. Friday morning. By the time we arrived at our hotel and in our rooms, it was 2:30 a.m. We were told that our wake up call would come at 6:00 a.m.

Up at 6:00 and back to the airport by 7:30 a.m. As we approached the airline counter, the lady behind the desk informed us that we would all have to pay for one piece of luggage. Ugh. So, we did what we knew to do. We all prayed. It took a while but Satan lost this battle.

Next stop, Cusco, Peru. We arrived safely and waited for our next flight to Padre Aldamiz International Airport, also known as Puerto Maldonado.

From there we loaded up in 2 vans and rode almost 2 hours to the Colorado river. As we looked across the water, our daylight was starting to fade, but we faithfully loaded ourselves and suitcases onto the two boats to cross the river.

It was fun to see how we all took every moment in stride. You didn’t hear complaints about the long day, or the travel wearies. We unloaded our suitcases from the boat and into small trucks. We all got inside the trucks to our final journey into the village of Boca Colorado.

Arriving around 7:30 p.m., our cook Hilda had dinner ready for us. After dinner, we were invited to a welcome ceremony at the church, and I’ll have to admit, I was tired. We all were. But, I’m so glad we took part in this ceremony as we praised God in worship and were welcomed by the church community.
