What if you knew?

There’s a time to live, and a time to die, yet most of us never really think about dying, do we? It usually only comes up if someone close to you has passed, or someone in your family is terminally ill. Benjamin Franklin coined the famous phrase, "In this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes."

As a Christian, we know that death is a consequence to sin. It started in the garden of Eden. No matter who’s to blame, man sinned and now we’re paying for it.

The Bible teaches that Jesus conquered death. Jesus took your place and mine at the cross, so that we could have a chance to live eternally. Did you hear that? An eternal home with Jesus and those who’ve gone on before us. But, there’s a catch. You have to believe in the One who created the Heavens and earth, and took your place on the cross.

Easter is coming and it is a time to remember that even though Christ died, He rose again. And the most amazing part of this story is it’s not over yet. Jesus will come again some day to take us home with Him.

We can’t escape death, it’s inevitable. But, if we have trusted Jesus as our Savior, we can pass from this life into eternity.

So, even though we don’t know the time or day we will die, or the time or day Jesus will return, we do know that all this is true. Now you know. What choice will you make?

Hebrews 9:27-28 - “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”
