Go for the gold!
I am in awe when I watch the athletes in the Olympics. I can’t imagine the training and dedication it took to get to the world stadium.
God calls us to be the best you can be. It is good and right to grow in your skill and it is good and right to maximize your potential. Yet the main goal in someone’s life should not be trying to be someone else. We also shouldn’t be jealous or longing for what God has given to another. Many people seek recognition of their skills and merits. Yet, the main matter in life is simply being who God has called you to be. We all know how challenging that can be.
God calls each one of us to be faithful stewards of all that he has entrusted to us. Yet there is a world of difference between being the best you can be and wanting to be known as the best.
Are you seeking other’s approval, or are you pursuing a life goal of Godliness? So, how do we pursue Godliness in a Godless world? You and I were saved from God’s wrath for a purpose: to become more like our Savior.
We can’t do this alone. Study His Word. Pray continually. God wants you to succeed in your pursuit of Godliness, and He will not let you down.
Go for the gold by putting God first in your life, serve others and love the unloveable.
1 Timothy 6:11 - “But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.”
