Complacency

Revelation 3:15-16 “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth."

Webster defines complacency as 'a feeling of being satisfied with how things are, and not wanting to try to make them better.'

But, if you look at the word 'complacency' in the Christian world, it's a scary thought.  If we have convinced ourselves that we've reached a point in our Christian walk where everything is fine, and there's no need to move forward, this is a perfect stepping ground for Satan to come in and attack.  We have to be careful to not become lukewarm and think that Satan can't touch us.

Don't let Satan convince you that fitting Christ in our life is just too much for us to do in our busy lives.

God gives each of us the ability, with His power and guidance, to do anything.

So, stop being so self-centered that you can't look beyond yourself and let Jesus step in and be the navigator of our lives.

Our life depends on it.

Are you visible?

2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!"

Do others look at you and see a Christian, or do they see something different?  Are you popular on Facebook, Twitter, etc.?  Are you fitting in with your peers?

As a Christian, we shouldn't be going with the crowd, we should be 'standing out' in a crowd.  Others should be looking at us and saying "I want what she's got."

God has called us to be different.  We should be the light in this dark world.

You know what they say, 'when it's the darkest outside is when you can see the tiniest stars.'

We are a new creation.  Our old self is no longer visible, but our new self should be shining for all to see!

Shine as bright as the north star, for all to see the glory of Christ in you!

who or what are you idolizing today?

An idol is anyone or anything that is more important to us than God. It could be our spouse, our grandkids, our job or possibly our own safety.

Colossians 3:5 - "Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry."

Some may think of idols as a statue or something you are praying to, but in reality, an idol can be anything or anyone that you put before God.

My grandkids are the loves of my life, and I would do anything for either one of them, but I have to be careful not to put them before God.  I've learned and listened to God enough to know that if I put Him first in my life, then everything else comes together (in His Will and timing).

We all need to put away the things in our lives that are hindering us with a closer righteous walk with God.

God is my idol.  I cherish and love Him every day of my life.  After all, He made me and I'm His.

Be bold for Jesus!

Ephesians 3:12 - "In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in Him."

I saw this on the internet and thought it was appropriate for this post today: "Jesus died for you in public, so don't only live for Him in private"

Those of us who are Christians know that our boldness comes from the Holy Spirit.  God gives this gift to those who are His.  God also gives us the boldness and confidence when our objectives are to obey and glorify Him with it.

I pray daily that God equips me with this boldness to step out in faith and tell others about Jesus; tell others how Jesus came and died for each one of us.

I'm not ashamed of my God!  Be bold for Christ today!  You'll be blessed for it.  I am!

Are you too busy today?

Matthew 11:28 - "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Ever had one of those days that went so fast you forgot to pray; thank God; praise Him for allowing you another day?

Take time today.  Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you that we can get very prideful if we're not careful.  Whatever is making us so busy should be helping us love God and other people more.

Think about it; slow down and feel His peace today.

Make it a habit to bless others

Colossians 4:6 - "Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person."

That God for the grace He extends each day.  Without it, life would be hopeless.

God's grace is defined as 'His unmerited favor.'  That means we do not deserve any of His grace that He extends daily.

Once we learn this unconditional forgiveness of Christ, then we lean how to extend it to others.

Forgive others as God forgave us.  Even if they don't deserve forgiveness, God commands it from us.

Start the habit today of forgiving others.  Believe me, your life will be more fulfilling if you do this.

I can trust God in my wait

John 16:33 - "John 16:33 - I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

God wants us to trust Him, totally.  He wants us to come to a place in our relationship with Him where we trust that He's in control, and that He has our best interest, even when what we're going through doesn't seem fair.

God is always pleased with our faith.  Trust Him.  He's on your side.  Trust Him in every circumstance.  When there are unanswered questions, or things are just not moving in our lives, still TRUST HIM.  Walk by faith, not by sight!

wrapped up in rules

If you're like me, there are days when I get so wrapped up in what I have to do, what's on my agenda; where I need to be at this time, that I forget that I'm not the one in control.

In the bible, the Pharisees got so wrapped up in the rules and regulations that they were being their own gods.  They were going through life relying on their own selves.

Acts 5:29 "But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men."

We all have to follow the rules and laws of the land we live in.

But life is so much more than this.  It's the freedom we can experience in living for God. Spend time with God.  Relax in His Word and let Him guide you throughout this day.

God delights in His children.  Obey God.
