Time.

There have been seasons in my life when it seemed that time stood still, unmoving. The death of my dad, my two brothers, my mom.

We all get one chance every day. The same 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The needy.

There will always be people in need; those who have found themselves destitute or poverty-stricken.

God sees them too. That’s why He sends people like you and me to help.

Guardrails

Guardrails are often put at the edge of a road to prevent your car from careening over a high bank. Without these in place, it was terrifying to a young driver.

I consider God my personal guardrail. When (not if) get too close to going down the wrong path, He’s there to keep me from harm.

Hide or seek?

Hide and seek was a popular game growing up. As much as I tried to hide, I was always caught. I often would rather be the seeker than the one that hid.

Many Christians today think they can hide from God. They do things they shouldn’t, thinking God won’t see or care.

Be still.

As I sit in my usual chair each morning, reading God’s word, I’m struck by the peaceful silence.

Silence for some can be frightening. Many fill their mind with mindless chatter from the tv, roaring music or hour long podcasts that clutters their thoughts.

Time is precious, yet we barely give it notice.

Whether a relationship, family or time, devote and commit yourself fully.

The Bible makes it clear that it is wise to work hard and plan ahead but be careful, greed could creep in and you’ll find yourself storing up treasures of your own.

Letting go.

My mom was an amazing woman; Godly, kind, compassionate, funny.

She never met a stranger and had the fiercest love for her family.

To let her go 8 years ago was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life.

As I listened to my GPS guide me toward home, reminding me to keep straight for the next 300 miles, I thought of the life I’ve lived so far.

After becoming a Christian as a teenager, I thought my life would be perfect with no more problems or trials ahead.
